Felony Child Abuse & Making a Criminal Threat: Charges Reduced, No Jail Time

Client, who is a Marine Corps veteran, was arrested and charged with felony child abuse and making a criminal threat (Penal Code §§ 273a(a) and 422). The client had an altercation with his minor son at their residence. After producing extensive mitigation on the client’s behalf and gaining the support of his son, the felonies were dismissed, and the judge sentenced the client to a misdemeanor with no jail time.
