Client, a man in his 70s, was charged with misdemeanor hit and run under Vehicle Code § 20002(a). After investigation revealed he had no knowledge of the alleged collision, all charges were dismissed prior to trial.

Police alleged that our client struck another vehicle on SR-94 and left the scene without stopping. The case was charged as a criminal hit and run, carrying up to six months in jail. But the facts didn’t support the accusation.

Our client immediately cooperated with law enforcement and explained he had no idea a collision occurred. We conducted a full defense investigation, reviewed video evidence, and identified inconsistencies in witness accounts. The physical damage was minor, and nothing suggested he knew, or reasonably should have known, about any impact.

The prosecution ultimately agreed and dismissed the case in full. Our client maintained his clean record and avoided prosecution entirely.
