Client was charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor under Business & Professions Code § 25658(a), a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail. After preparing the case for trial, all charges were dismissed.
The case arose from an undercover “shoulder tap” operation conducted by law enforcement and ABC agents outside a convenience store in Encinitas. Our client was cited after allegedly purchasing alcohol for a decoy.
Despite the initial arrest and prosecution, we pushed forward with pretrial litigation. The prosecution ultimately dismissed the case in full.
